Dear Friends:
“The future of our society is completely dependent on the education of its’ youth.” What a powerful statement, what an incredible truth, what a formidable task!
Coopersville Area Public Schools is an outstanding West Michigan school system. Our district has many outstanding characteristics including great people, great facilities/ technology, great people, and great kids. We also have the desire and structure to continuously work toward improving our schools and developing better ways to assist all students.
We believe our district is just the right size -- large enough to be able to offer strong curricular programs and thoroughly prepare students to be college or career ready upon graduation, but small enough to connect and develop strong relationships with students and families. Our students also have opportunities to be involved in numerous co-curricular offerings based on their interests and passion.
The people in our school district have strongly supported education with the outstanding facilities which are provided to benefit our kids. We utilize interactive technology in our classrooms to help reach a variety of learning styles, and also incorporate one-to-one technology in our secondary schools to better prepare our students for their futures.
One of CAPS’ greatest strengths is our dedicated staff who regularly goes above and beyond to assist our students! Our employee groups work cooperatively to benefit our kids in an effort to help each one of them reach their potential.
The 2011-12 school year marks the beginning of the work on our strategic plan which will require incremental steps over the next five years to meet our objectives. Our mission is that “We inspire all students to embrace a life-long love of learning, to achieve their goals, and to be compassionate citizens who contribute to the global community.” Please join me in working together to accomplish our mission for Coopersville students and their future!
Sincerely,
Ron Veldman
Superintendent
