About the teacher:

I live in Coopersville with my husband and two kids. My son, Tom, and daughter, Kaylor, go to school here. We love living and going to school at Coopersville. Probably like your children, mine are as different from each other as night and day, but just as fun in their own ways.

I have a B.A. in Language Arts for the Elementary Teacher with minors in elementary education and Spanish. My Master’s Degree is in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Degree (ZA) added.

Prior to teaching first grade I taught fifth grade and elementary Spanish. I also have experience in preschool and second grade. First grade is exactly where I want to be.

There is nothing I would rather do than teach first grade. Reading is such a love of mine; I enjoy being able to coach from the very beginning of the reading process. Something I love about first graders is the huge academic and emotional growth they experience throughout the year.

My hobbies include reading, shopping, scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends. One of the things I love about my job is getting to know all the families every year.
