EXPLORE - This test is taken in March of 9th grade. This test is designed to help students explore a broad range of options for their future. EXPLORE prepares students not only for their high school coursework, but for their post-high school choices as well. It marks an important beginning for student's future academic and career success.
PLAN - This test is taken in March of 10th grade during school. This is a pre-ACT test that helps determine how well students will do on the ACT test. It focuses attention on both career preparation and improving academic achievement.
MME - This is a 3-day test given to all 11th graders in the State of Michigan. Day One (March 9) is the ACT (college entrance exam). Day Two (March 10) is three WorkKeys exams. Day Three (March 11) is the Michigan Math, Science, and Social Studies exams. This test is paid for by the State of Michigan.
PSAT - This test is taken in the fall of 11th grade during school. It is optional but encouraged for students with high grade point averages. It is a pre-SAT test and also determines eligibility for a National Merit Scholarship. There is a small fee to take this test.
ACT - This is a college entrance exam required by 4-year colleges and universities in Michigan. It is Day One of the MME but may be taken again to increase score at a national test center (GVSU, GRCC, etc.). There is a fee to retake this test, but you may retake as many times as you wish.
