Welcome to Art!

I have been teaching Elementary art at Coopersville since 2001.  I have a Bachelor's degree from Hope College and Master's degree from Western Michigan University.  I enjoy creating my own artwork whenever I get the chance. I have done several murals throughout the area and enjoy working with a variety of mediums including ceramics, metal and wire. I also enjoy incorporating writing within my art.

Throughout the year, each grade level works with the twelve principles and elements of design.  They learn skills to creatively solve problems about other cultures, art history, and learn about how art relates to other disciplines.

Student artwork is shared and recognized throughout the year. Besides the showcase displays at both East and South Elementary, Coopersville art students participate in Artsonia and yearly displays at Coopersville Public Library.
