How AP Supports Students

  • Provides rigorous, college-level coursework while in high school.
  • Builds skills needed for success in college classes.
  • May lead to college credit or advanced placement, depending on exam scores.

Dual Enrollment allows qualified 9th–12th grade students to take college courses while still enrolled at CHS. This option supports students seeking additional challenge or access to courses not offered at the high school.

Students must enroll for dual enrollment a semester before the semester the class will be taken.

For Fall Semester registration takes place in April.

For the winter semester registration is in October.

How Dual Enrollment Supports Students

  • Offers reduced or free tuition for approved college courses.
  • Provides a jump-start on earning college credit.

Early College is a structured program that allows students to extend their high school experience while earning both high school and college credit through an approved partner college. Students follow a planned sequence of high school and college courses.

Early College applications are due in February of 10th Grade.

How Early College Supports Students

  • Provides a clear pathway to earning significant college credit while in high school.
  • Offers additional support for the transition into college-level coursework.
  • Helps reduce the overall cost of postsecondary education.

Some CHS courses articulate for college credit when students meet grade requirements set by the partnering institution. Articulated credit is awarded by the college and may not transfer to all institutions. A list of articulated CHS courses is published in the Course Catalog.

Classes will be selected in February for the following school year.

2025-2026 Course Catalog

Select CHS courses offer concurrent (dual) credit opportunities through partner colleges when students meet published criteria. Courses eligible for concurrent credit are listed in the Course Catalog.

Students considering AP, Dual Enrollment, Early College, or articulated/concurrent credit should review requirements in the Course Catalog and meet with their counselor to ensure options align with their four-year plan and graduation requirements.
