Testing & Assessments

Coopersville High School participates in state and national assessments that help monitor learning, guide academic planning, and meet graduation requirements.

SAT Prep & College Readiness

CHS integrates preparation for state and college-entrance exams directly into the curriculum and offers targeted support.

  • English 9 and English 11 include SAT-aligned reading, writing, vocabulary, and practice components.
  • SAT Prep (grade 11) is a 0.5-credit elective that reviews English and math content, teaches test-taking strategies, and uses Khan Academy's Official SAT Practice. This course is offered first semester only.

How This Supports Students

  • Builds familiarity with test formats, timing, and question types.
  • Provides structured time for targeted practice and test-taking strategies.
  • Aligns classroom learning with college- and career-readiness expectations.

The SAT is a college entrance exam given free to all CHS juniors as part of Day One of the MME.

How Results Are Used

  • Support college admission and scholarship consideration.
  • Inform placement in some college courses and programs.
