What Is the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)?

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s state-funded preschool program for eligible four-year-olds. At WECC, GSRP provides a safe, nurturing, play-based environment where children grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.

Program eligibility is determined by state guidelines and includes factors such as family income and other state-defined criteria. Families must provide documentation to verify eligibility and age.

Classrooms use the state-approved Creative Curriculum® and follow Michigan’s Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Prekindergarten. Teachers partner closely with families through home visits, conferences, and regular developmental check-ins to support each child’s progress.
