Special Education/Student Services

Coopersville Area Public Schools is committed to meeting the learning needs of every student. Special Education & Student Services provides individualized support for students with disabilities so they can grow academically, socially, and emotionally in the least restrictive environment.

We work in partnership with families, teachers, and our regional special education team to provide services that help each student succeed.

What Services Can Include

Depending on a student’s needs, support may include:

  • Classroom accommodations
  • Small-group or individualized instruction
  • Speech and language services
  • Occupational and physical therapy
  • School social work, behavior support, or counseling
  • Assistive technology
  • Consultation between general education and special education teams

All services and supports are determined through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.

How to Access Support

If you have concerns about your child’s learning or development, please contact your child’s school. Our team can help with:

  • Talking through concerns
  • Exploring general education supports
  • Discussing next steps
  • Considering evaluation or additional services
  • Connecting you with district and community resources

Students may also request to talk with a trusted adult or support staff member at school.
