We’re glad you’re here. Whether your family already calls Coopersville home or you’re considering joining us through School of Choice, we’re here to make enrollment clear, simple, and welcoming for every new Bronco.

Before you begin the enrollment process, we recommend gathering the following items:
  • Proof of residency or an approved School of Choice application
  • Certified birth certificate
  • Up-to-date immunization record or valid waiver
  • Your student's current IEP (if applicable)

Temporary Housing & McKinney-Vento Support

If your family is temporarily living with another household, in transitional housing, or experiencing housing instability, please contact us. Students in these situations may qualify for support services under McKinney-Vento guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

All students enrolling in Coopersville Area Public Schools must provide the following documents:

  • Proof of Residency (utility bill, lease agreement, or mortgage statement)
  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Up-to-Date Immunization Record or Valid Waiver
  • Current IEP (if applicable)

Additional requirements apply for younger students:

Kindergarten & Young Fives

  • Health Appraisal completed by a physician
  • Hearing & Vision Screening
  • Dental Screening

Preschool Programs

  • Health Appraisal
  • Additional early childhood program forms may be required during the MiECC registration process.

All required documents can be uploaded during the CAPS District Online Enrollment process.

Certified birth certificates are issued by the county clerk in the county where your child was born. This may not be the same county where you currently live.

If your child was born in West Michigan, you may request a birth certificate from the offices below:

Michigan students must meet state immunization requirements or have a valid waiver on file to enroll in school.

Proof of residency verifies that you live within the Coopersville Area Public Schools district. Acceptable documents include:

  • A current utility bill
  • A lease agreement
  • A mortgage statement

The document must include your name and current address.

Online document uploads are preferred during the District Online Enrollment process.

If you are unable to upload documents, you may bring physical copies to the Administration Office or email them to the District Registrar.

All CAPS buildings share one connected campus. Students are placed by grade level.

Yes — CAPS provides bus transportation for in-district students along published routes.
Families attending through School of Choice provide their own transportation.

Transportation is not provided for preschool students.
