Coopersville High School students are once again earning national recognition for their academic excellence, bringing attention to the talent and achievement found right here in Bronco country.

During a recent report to the Board of Education, CHS Principal Dr. McPheron shared that 17 Coopersville High School students earned a combined 32 honors through the College Board National Recognition Programs.

These prestigious recognitions celebrate high-performing students from across the country and help increase visibility with colleges and scholarship providers nationwide.

To qualify, students must meet rigorous academic benchmarks during their sophomore or junior years, including maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher while also meeting testing or Advanced Placement performance requirements.

This year, Coopersville students earned recognition through three national programs:

Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award
Recognizes outstanding students attending schools in smaller and rural communities, helping connect local talent with colleges and universities across the country.

School Recognition Award
Honors top-performing academic leaders within individual school communities for their exceptional achievement.

First-Generation Recognition Award
Celebrates students who are on track to become the first in their immediate families to earn a college degree, recognizing the determination required to forge a new path in higher education.

While these recognitions are awarded to individual students, Coopersville Area Public Schools has long viewed them as a celebration shared across the entire district community.

These honors represent years of hard work by students, educators, and families and reflect the strong culture of academic excellence found throughout Coopersville Area Public Schools.

The district congratulates these outstanding Broncos and looks forward to the opportunities these recognitions will create as they continue their educational journeys.
